Shalom and welcome to Hillel Community Day School's first EVER blog! The purpose of this blog is for our parents and supporters to connect and engage in discussions. It is also an additonal resource to use to get event info and updates, contact the school, open discussions and post questions for Hillel's Principal, Rabbi Chaim Hisiger, about practices, koshering or current events in Rochester and throughout the world that affect our community and the Jewish people.

Hillel Community Day School is a full day Secular and Judaic studies private school, with an intergrated curriculum for Kindergarten through 8th grade. Since 1947, Hillel School has welcomed students of all backgrounds and affiliations.

- The school was founded by a group of concerned community members that felt it was of the utmost importance for Rochester to have a Jewish day school. An important policy was made right from the start—that the school would not be affiliated with any one congregation or denomination, but would be representative of the Jewish community overall. Its vision was to be that of a progressive American Jewish Day School. Today, our student population ranges from conservative to reform, orthodox and the unaffiliated. Regardless of affiliation, all of our students receive an exceptional education and the warmth of a community that last a lifetime. Hillel Community Day School is also a member of the Greater Rochester Association of Private Schools (GRAPS).

marnie - this is a great idea! sorry i have been out of the loop with school and the pta - let me know if there is anything i can do. also - i will be late to the dinner tonight (coming after 6:30pm) can you save me some food? suzie
